Senior Interior Designer
Design Theory Collective is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Interior Architect / Designer to join our growing team. If you have a proven track record of leading high-profile retail and hospitality projects and a passion for pushing creative boundaries, we invite you to help shape and build our future.
We are a nimble collective of experienced designers specialising in creating exceptional brand experiences for clients across the globe. Our work spans from luxury department stores to global F&B brands, with projects in Europe, the US, and Korea. Our collaborative ethos and commitment to flexibility empower our team to produce their best, most innovative work.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be entrusted with significant project autonomy. You will be a leader in the design process, from strategic concept development to project execution. Your responsibilities include:
- Strategic Project Leadership: Taking the lead on complex projects, overseeing all phases from initial client brief to final installation. This includes managing high-level strategy, timelines, and budgets.
- Conceptual Vision: Developing and articulating bold, compelling concepts aligning to our clients ambitions.
- Client Relationships: Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships, and confidently presenting complex ideas and solutions.
- Team Mentorship: Providing guidance and oversight to junior and mid-weight designers, fostering their growth and ensuring design excellence across the team.
- Problem-Solving: Navigating project challenges with composure, strategic thinking, and innovative solutions.
- Quality Control: Ensuring the highest standards of design, technical execution, and project delivery are met.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Extensive Experience: 8+ years of experience, with a significant portfolio of retail and hospitality projects.
- Proven Leadership: A demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and manage key client relationships.
- Strategic Mindset: The ability to think beyond aesthetics, translating a client’s vision into a viable, functional, and impactful space.
- Technical Mastery: High-level proficiency in AutoCad or Vectorworks, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
- Exceptional Communication: The ability to lead meetings, negotiate with suppliers, and present with authority and clarity.
- Boundless Curiosity: Someone who doesn’t just accept the status quo, but instead asks why, with the drive to create something meaningful.
